Labor Day weekend is the last big camping hurrah for many families! Although lots of people enjoy camping in the fall (and who wouldn’t?) Labor Day weekend is considered the official close of summer vacationing. Here are some good Labor Day weekend camping tips to keep in mind.
Plan In Advance
Because summer is winding down, Labor Day weekend tends to see a final surge of traveling families. So, book your reservations as far in advance as you can. We’re getting close to Labor Day, so keep your options in front of you and have some backup plans if the campgrounds or tourist attractions you want to see have limited availability.
Get Road Ready
It’s not a bad idea to schedule some end of season RV service anyway just to make sure your new or used RV is in tip top condition. Contact our RV service department to slide in before you leave!
Check the Forecast
Mother Nature loves to have her way with camping trips! It’s easy enough to prepare for rain – make sure you pack along ponchos and lots of extra clean and dry socks – but you also want to be mindful of dry weather and the conditions you might encounter. For instance, if you’re traveling to a region that’s especially dry, there may be local burn bans in effect, which may limit some activities, like building a campfire.
Check the forecast and plan for the weather conditions accordingly!
Shop Smart for Groceries
Make your meal plan and shop for your groceries efficiently. Dry goods and non perishables can be bought in advance, but save purchasing the perishables until the night before you leave. That’s also a great time to fill up the fuel tank so you’re ready to hit the road in the morning!
