As a full-time RVer, my husband and I are constantly looking for ways to help our little one and our dog feel more at home wherever we are. Below, I’ll share three of my favorite tricks for helping everyone to relax and enjoy our space. Whether you’re planning to spend a few days at the campground or settling in for the season, these camping tips will help you make the campground feel a little more like home.
Improve Your Seating
One of the best ways to make the campground feel cozier is to upgrade your outdoor seating options. We kept a pair of cheap camp chairs for years as our main outdoor seating option, and it was not ideal. Eventually, we upgraded to better-quality camp chairs and hammocks, which significantly improved our overall experience.
Create Space for Pets
If you enjoy traveling with your four-footed friends, be sure to create a space for them to be included. Consider putting a mat down for them or bringing along their favorite chew toys. Lots of RVs come with a leash latch by the door, which allows you to attach a lead so your pet can wander your campsite safely. Our dog likes to crawl under the RV and nap because it’s usually cool under there.
Give Your Picnic Table a Makeover
Campground picnic tables are kind of an eyesore. We generally throw a water-resistant table cloth over ours and set up a cute centerpiece, as you would on an outdoor table at home. This makes the space feel more welcoming and gives us an excellent spot for breakfasts together or a game of cards.
