Search for Dinosaur Tracks
The shining feature of Dinosaur Valley State Park is the incredible dinosaur footprints and fossils you can find. Head on over to the river to take a peek and see what you can find. Remember, because the tracks are in the riverbed, you might not always be able to see them. And, if the conditions are wet, the trail might be closed. Just contact the park or visit the Facebook or Twitter feed to ensure the visibility of tracks and if the trails are open.

Bring Your Horse
Enjoy horseback riding? The good news is, you can bring your own horse to explore the 100-acre South Primitive Area. This area features a river that runs through the semi-rocky, wooded area of the park. The water cannot be ingested (no potable water), so make sure you bring your own. Horses are permitted to drink from the river, just bring your own bucket to fetch water.
Take a Guided Tour
Guided tours are available by the Eagle Eye Ranch Carriage Company. From guided horseback tours to horse drawn wagon rides, you’ll enjoy gorgeous views and an educational experience learning about the park’s history. Children 3-14 years old can also take wrangler assisted trail rides.
