A mere 4 years ago Fun Town RV used to be Fun Time RV and boy, were they in trouble. In fact, due to financial issues Fun Time RV shut its doors and left 115 employees without a job and a ton of inventory on the lot. Jarrod McGhee, a former Fun Time employee, knew he had to do something to not only help the 115 employees who were without a job, but also to bring an RV dealership who offers quality lines, exceptional customer service, and great prices to RVers in the community.
In 2010, Fun Town RV opened promising to serve the community. Our general manager says, “We were just getting off the ground as winter was approaching, and that is traditionally a slow time for the RV industry as a whole,” said Raul Ramirez, Fun Town general manager. “But we never slowed down. We kept on cranking out the units all the way through until the spring. It was unbelievable. We were hiring back old FunTime employees just to keep up with the demand of how many we were selling.”
In just 4 short years we’ve gone from a small dealership offering a simple lineup of Forest River products to the largest volume RV dealership in the country. Our Waco location is ranked the number 6 RV dealership in the state and headed for number 2, with number 1 reserved for Cleburne.
In honor of the team behind Fun Town RV our owners threw a party catered by Dickey’s BBQ and had former Dallas Cowboys linebacker Randy White around to sign autographs and talk with the team. White advised us to “stay hungry” and that’s just what we’re doing.
With our approach to customer service, exceptional selection of RVs, and incredible team, it’s no wonder we’ve achieved this. We’re so pumped that we’re actually planning on opening 5 more locations in the next few years, with one opening in Houston later this year.
