Traveling with my kids is probably my greatest enjoyment in life. I have made it my mission to create memories that will help them develop from crazy, rambunctious little humans to well-rounded adults. I jokingly call them “college essay memories.” Between you and me, traveling with kids is exhausting. Sometimes the only thing I can do to maintain everyone’s sanity is to pull over to the nearest playground and let them run out their energy. But considering all the planning that goes into an RV trip, finding a playground can turn out to be the biggest challenge of the trip.
If you’re making a trip through Texas with kids, check out some of these playgrounds that top my list of the best spots to wear out kids.
When you’re near Greenville, visit Greenville SportsPark. Little ones love to explore Aunt Char’s Kid Zone and older kids can play in the soccer field or batting cages.

There is a reason why Zilker Park is voted Austin’s most loved park. Aside from a calendar full of events throughout the year, the 351-acre park is home to a nature center, Botanical Garden, canoe rental and bike path. But for kids, the highlight will be the playground where they can climb on a vintage car. Entrance to the park is free, but on weekends there is a $5 parking fee.

Creative Playscape nestled in San Gabriel Park is packed with fun for kids. Musical chimes, a rock climbing wall, and plenty of seating for parents make this our favorite park in Georgetown.
