2020 is almost over, but the COVID-19 pandemic is still raging. Just because we’re in the middle of a pandemic, though, doesn’t mean that we have to miss out on fun. In fact, getting outside and traveling via RV is an incredibly safe way to get around and enjoy adventures during a season like this.
But because things are a little different, it’s important you plan ahead. Here are three tips for RVing during the pandemic.
Call Ahead
Regardless of where you’re traveling or what you plan to do, it’s important to call ahead and see what might have changed due to the pandemic. Some campgrounds closed bathrooms, which isn’t a problem if you have an RV with one, but is a problem if you don’t. Other campgrounds cut back on the number of campers allowed, so reservations would need to be made further out that normal.
Plan To Eat In
Plan to eat in more than normal. Most like to try local dive bars and what not, but the reality is you will face restrictions on dining in and carrying out wherever you are. And, if you plan to travel through multiple states, things can get even more confusing because each state has its own rules.
Don’t Count On Indoor Activities
Many indoor activities are completely canceled or operating at limited capacity. Most RVers tend to rely on these things for rainy days. Instead, plan to bring along extra games and movies so you’re adequately covered on days where the weather might be less than desirable.
